About Rebel Backyard Sports
A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.
I have always had a passion for sports. It started as a child. Like most children, I envisioned playing professional football, basketball, and baseball. I was going to play all of them; it was a given. I spent countless hours practicing and chasing the dream in my backyard. My passion for sports eventually led not to a professional sports career as a player but to degrees in Physical Education and Sports Medicine and the opportunity to help others perfect their game, both kids and professional athletes.
Some of my fondest memories as a child are the days I spent at a friend’s house. You see, his father converted the top of his barn into the ultimate kid’s zone. Everyone wanted to go to his house to play. Looking back, the converted barn was nothing special. It had basketball goal mounted up against a wall, a space heater, and a couple of dingy lights. That is to say, there was nothing extraordinary about the construction of the ultimate kid’s zone. To us kids, it was great. We couldn’t break anything, and we never got yelled at like when we played in the basement. We played for hours and hours: football, basketball, hockey, wiffle ball, kickball, volleyball, dodge ball and any other game we could think of. You name it. We played it. I always said one day I would have a place like that. Building my version of the ultimate kid’s zone has taken over five years, and we are almost done. I only wish I had started earlier because my oldest son is already 13. My three boys (and their friends) enjoy it so much.
Over the past seven years, I have spent hours researching companies and products to complete my project. As a result, I have been able to secure distribution rights from several companies and have decided to form a company to help others with their quest to design affordable backyard sports entertainment areas. If people are willing to pay thousands of dollars for a swimming pool, why not build a backyard sports-entertainment area that the whole family can use all year long.
To me there is nothing more inspiring than the energy a child has. So I invite you to relive some of the greatest times of your life. Be a REBEL. Create a backyard sports entertainment facility that your whole family can enjoy. We can accommodate little kids all the way up to the biggest kids of all, moms and dads.
